About Artquilus

At Artquilus, we believe jewelry is more than adornment — it’s a living story shaped by tradition, craftsmanship, and spirit. Each piece honors the connection between art, nature, and the cultures that inspire us.

The Inspiration

At Artquilus, every piece is more than an accessory — it’s a link to ancient traditions and cultural symbolism. Inspired by the myths and motifs of civilizations like Mexico and Egypt, our designs channel spiritual iconography into meaningful, timeless adornments.

From protective amulets to symbols of transformation, each creation speaks to something universal. We believe jewelry should evoke emotion, honor heritage, and reflect the wearer’s story.

The Techniques

Artquilus blends traditional craftsmanship with experimental design, using techniques from intricate wire wrapping to welding and hand-forged fabrication.

Wire wrap — the slow, precise art of weaving metal by hand — sits at the heart of our work. Each piece takes hours to shape with patience and intention.

Select pieces incorporate welding and metal-forming to create more complex structures, balancing strength and fluidity. We primarily use brass and stainless steel, paired with hand-selected stones from Mexico and beyond — including opal, obsidian, amber, garnet, and labradorite.

Every piece reflects time, skill, and deep respect for both the materials and the story it carries.

Mauricio Campos

Founder & Artisan

Mauricio is a Mexican artisan whose fascination with the natural world began while studying biology at UNAM. In his early twenties, he discovered wire wrapping and taught himself the craft — spending years refining his technique, driven by curiosity, patience, and a deep love for materials and symbology.

Now based in Mexico City, Mauricio blends structure and flow to create one-of-a-kind pieces by hand. Each design reflects his connection to nature, his cultural roots, and the quiet discipline of true craftsmanship.
